Study Interests

  • My study interests include next-generation HPC solution targeting at better time-to-solution and energy-to-solution. In recent years, I have been focusing on designing novel solutions for resolving major challenges from important numerical applications such as climate modeling and exploration geophysics. The latest updates include using Sunway TaihuLight to achieve extremely large-scale simulation for numerical applications, and using reconfigurable system to achieve improvements in both the performance and the power efficiency.
  • 本人主要从事全新超算系统应用方法研究工作。近年来重点基于国产超算系统(如神威·太湖之光)以及可重构计算系统等,研究能解决重大应用需求的高性能、低能耗方法。
    • 1. 国产超算系统:设计高效的优化方案,完善我国国产超算系统的优化方法并积累经验,为提高用户开发效率提供良好借鉴,推动国产处理器在高性能计算更多关键应用中的使用,促进我国未来E级超级计算机的设计与研制。
    • 2.可重构计算系统:研究一套完整的通用可重构计算优化方案,提高硬件开发效率,进一步验证可重构系统在求解大规模科学计算问题的可行性与优越性等,为下一代高性能计算芯片与系统提供创新性高效率的计算方案。

[1] 戈登·贝尔奖是超级计算应用领域年度最高荣誉,由美国计算机协会ACM颁发。2016年,我直接参与的千万核可扩展大气动力学全隐式模拟工作研究成果获得当年度“戈登·贝尔”奖,实现了该奖创办30年来我国在此大奖上零的突破,成为我国高性能计算应用发展的新里程碑,该成果也入选由两院院士评选的2016中国十大科技进展新闻,本人为获奖论文共同通讯作者。2017年,我直接参与了基于“神威·太湖之光”的全球气候模式的高性能模拟工作。该工作获得2017年“戈登·贝尔”奖最终提名,全球一共3项成果入围,本人为入围论文共同通讯作者。

[2] 清华大学-浪潮集团计算地球科学青年人才奖,该奖是国内计算地球科学领域首个也是目前唯一一个人才奖励计划,用于表彰在计算机与地球科学交叉领域取得突出贡献并且具有极高潜力的青年科研工作者,推动交叉青年人才培养。该奖每年颁发一次,每次不超过5人,其候选人由两院院士、长江学者等知名学者推荐,经过专家评审团的审核之后,最终确定奖项得主,该奖同时设立面向学生的优秀学生奖。本人系青年人才奖设立以来最年轻得主,也是唯一同时获得青年人才奖(2017)和优秀学生奖(2013)的得主。

[3] 2015年,FPL国际会议评奖委员会从该领域25年(1990-2014)所收录的1765篇论文中选出了25篇(录用率1.5%)对领域发展具有突出贡献的论文,授予“25年领域最具影响力论文奖“。本人为第一作者的论文入选,系唯一一篇来自中国的获奖论文。该论文在超级计算硬件芯片领域提出了一系列创新性方法,获得应用领域同行的关注和认可,为进一步设计地球系统数值模拟的专用芯片、以及为未来超算系统全新架构的研究,提供了良好的借鉴。

[4] 全国青年岗位能手标兵和全国青年岗位能手是各行各业青年的先进代表,集中体现了当代青年爱岗敬业、勤于学习、勇于创新、甘于奉献的优秀品质,该称号由共青团中央和人力资源与社会保障部联合表彰,2018年全国范围内共表彰40位全国青年岗位能手标兵。

[5] IEEE高性能专委会杰出新人奖(IEEE-CS TCHPC Award for Excellence for Early Career Researchers in HPC)是国际电气和电子工程师协会(IEEE)为表彰在高性能计算领域具有极大发展潜力的青年学者而专门设立的奖项,每年全球范围内表彰不超过3人,该奖要求获得者在高性能计算领域已取得杰出成果,并且其研究要对领域的未来发展具有重要且持久性的推动作用。系第一次也是目前唯一来自中国科研机构的获奖者。
